Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge, Switzerland

By The Denizen

Spanning an impressive 494 meters, the recently opened Europaweg Skywalk boating incredible views is the longest suspension bridge in the world. Taking 10 weeks to build a hanging a daunting 86 meters above ground, those willing to trek across will be cutting down their journey from the previous four hours to 10 minutes. Beyond its obvious practicality, the bridge provides a thrilling experience that’s not for the faint-hearted.

The Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge completes the Europaweg from Grächen to Zermatt. Many people consider this to be the most beautiful two-day hike in the Alps. If one covers the entire trail, one enjoys views of the Matterhorn, Weisshorn and the Bernese Alps. The suspension bridge can also be reached by foot from Randa (Zermatt Matterhorn).
